DSWD chief signs MOU with key partners for scholarship program

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian signs on Wednesday (December 13) a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the president of the Aldaba-Lim Foundation, Inc. (ALFI) Mr. Alberto Aldaba Lim and the executive director of the University of the Philippines Social Action and Research for Development Foundation Inc. (UPSARDFI) Prof. Jocelyn T. Caragay.

The MOU signing, which was held at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City, aims to formalize the collaboration of the DSWD with the ALFI and the UPSARDFI for the implementation of the Aldaba-Lim Memorial Scholarship Program that will fund the graduate studies of selected and deserving social workers from the agency.

Present during the ceremonial MOU signing are the Aldaba-Lim family; ALFI Chairperson Cecilia Lim Lazaro; and UP Social Welfare and Community Development Dean, Prof. Lenore P. Dela Cruz.

Joining Secretary Gatchalian in the MOU signing are DSWD Assistant Secretary for General Administration and Support Services Group (GASSG) and Personnel Development Committee (PDC) Chairperson, Atty. Gina V. Wenceslao; Assistant Secretary for Partnerships Building and Resource Mobilization Office (PBRMO), Atty. Ana Maria Paz Rafael; and Mr. Ronald E. Castro, president of the Association of DSWD Social Workers, Inc. (ADSWI) Central Office Chapter.
